Programs for NYSCOPBA-represented Employees

The Security Services Unit Labor-Management Committee (SSU LMC) coordinates and administers education and training programs, as well as quality of work life efforts, funded by Articles 13.1 and 25.6 of the agreement between New York State (NYS) and NYS Correctional Officers and Police Benevolent Association, Inc. (NYSCOPBA).

Quality of Work Life/Labor-Management Grants Program (QWL/LMGP)

The QWL/LMGP provides a special opportunity for labor-management committees to develop new and creative program ideas and identify specific projects that will improve the work life of NYSCOPBA-represented employees. To receive grant funds, active labor-management cooperation must be demonstrated.

QWL/LMGP Guidelines and Application

Quality of Work Life/Equipment Replacement Grants Program (QWL/ERGP)

The QWL/ERGP is intended to provide local labor-management committees the opportunity to replace worn out, broken equipment originally purchased through the Quality of Work Life/ Labor-Management Grants Program (QWL/LMGP).

QWL/ERGP Guidelines and Application

Education and Training Program (ETP)

The ETP enables NYSCOPBA-represented employees to maintain or improve job-related skills in their profession and gain the knowledge and skills necessary for promotional opportunities and career mobility within NYS service. Qualifying courses must begin, or have begun, during the period of April 1, 2022, through March 31, 2023. Applications for courses or events that began on or after April 1, 2022, and ended prior to June 15, 2022, must be submitted by September 13, 2022.

The ETP enables NYSCOPBA-represented employees to maintain or improve job-related skills in their profession and gain the knowledge and skills necessary for promotional opportunities and career mobility within NYS service. Qualifying courses must begin, or have begun, during the period of April 1, 2021, through March 31, 2022. Applications must be submitted no later than ninety (90) calendar days from the end date of the course.
